New system will enhance campus safety

(Ottawa) –  Carleton University today unveiled its new Emergency Notification System (ENS), the most comprehensive of its kind on a Canadian university campus.

"Benbria, another Ottawa company backed by Mitel chairman Terry Matthews, produces a product called BlazeCast, which can use the Mitel voice-over-Internet-protocol platform, or VoIP, to deliver the instant mass warnings of danger through overhead paging, desktop alerts, e-mail, phone and text messaging.
